School-Based Health Program

The School-Based Health Program is sponsored by the Rainelle Medical Center, Inc., and supported by grant funding from the WV Bureau for Public Health, WV Bureau for Behavior Health Divisions of Children’s Mental Health and Drug and Alcohol, and the Sisters of St. Joseph Health and Wellness Foundation.

Mission

To attend to unmet needs by providing mental and medical health care where the children are; to support families by keeping children healthy; and to reduce barriers to learning by keeping children in school.

School’s Served

Meadow Bridge High School, Meadow Bridge Elementary School, Western Greenbrier Middle School, and Greenbrier West High School.

Services

Medical
Ill child care, well child screenings, sports physicals, immunizations, health education, physician referrals.

Counseling
Individual, group and family counseling, crisis intervention, mental health screenings, classroom education, and referrals to additional resources. Treatment for problems such as substance abuse, anger management, anxiety, depression, disruptive behavior, and attention deficit disorders.
